Salt – a mineral composed of Sodium Chloride (NaCl). It is present in most quantities in sea water. Salt is essential for human life and is one of the basic human tastes.
We all need in food but it has many other uses as well.

Lets discuss the uses of salt :-
Salt is the oldest food seasoning in this world. Without salt, food becomes tasteless. No food is complete without salt.
To remove stubborn tarnish from brass fittings, nameplates and other small objects, rub them with a paste of salt and vinegar or use a salted lemon rind.
China Cups Cleaner
Remove coffee or tea stains from your china cups and mugs by scrubbing with salt or a 50-50 mixture of salt and white vinegar.
Cold and Cough Remedy
To soothe a sore throat, gargle every 2 hours with a solution of 1/4th teaspoon salt dissolved in 1 cup warm water. Salt-water nose drops may help relieve a stuffy nose. Boil 150ml water, let it cool and dissolve 1/4th teaspoon salt in it to make your own nasal drops.
To clean burned food from pots or pans, wet the burnt area, sprinkle with salt and leave for 10 minutes. Then scrub well. Your cookware is clean.
Bathe in mildly salted water (4 tablespoon of salt per a tubful) to rehydrate your body and then apply a moisturizing lotion.
Furniture Stain Remover
Use table salt and a drop of water to remove the white rings left by cups or glasses on your wooden furniture.
Just before a snowfall, spread a little rock salt on steps, paths and driveways to prevent snow from sticking. It keeps ice from bonding to a concrete surface.
Ink Stain Remover
If the ink is still wet, pour salt on the stains and brush it off after few minutes. Repeat if necessary.
For itchy, dry or chopped skin, a salt bath works wonders. But be careful while getting in and out of the bathing tub as salt makes the tub slippery.
For a facial refresher, fill a spray bottle with tepid water and 1 teaspoon salt. Then spray the solution on your face. Blot dry with a towel.
Rust Stain Remover
Rub a paste of salt and vinegar into the rust stain, leave it to stand for 30 minutes. Then wash as usual.
Sprinkle salt on slugs to kill them. Stage an evening raid in the garden, salt celler in hand, sprinkle each slug once, then again in 5 minutes.
Soak weary feet in basin of hot water to which you have added 2 tablespoon of plain salt.
Salt can be substituted for a toothpaste because salt acts as a natural tooth care, treatment and healing for toothache.
To remove water rings, rub them with salt. If the vase is narrow and you cant reach them, fill it with a strong salt water solution and shake until clean.
Fruits Stain Remover
Salt combined with lemon juice will remove fruit stains from your hands.
Clean artificial flowers by shaking them in a large paper bag with 225gms fine table salt.
Cover fresh oven spills with salt, leave it for 15-20 minutes and then wipe it up. Follow the same process when you drop grease or a raw egg on the floor. Never put salt on a carpet stain, however.
Sprinkle some salt on ice to get it defrosted faster.
