Salt – a mineral composed of Sodium Chloride (NaCl). It is present in most quantities in sea water. Salt is essential for human life and is one of the basic human tastes.

We all need in food but it has many other uses as well.

Seasoning

Salt is the oldest food seasoning in this world. Without salt, food becomes tasteless. No food is complete without salt.

Brass Cleaner

To remove stubborn tarnish from brass fittings, nameplates and other small objects, rub them with a paste of salt and vinegar or use a salted lemon rind.

China Cups Cleaner

Remove coffee or tea stains from your china cups and mugs by scrubbing with salt or a 50-50 mixture of salt and white vinegar.

Cold and Cough Remedy

To soothe a sore throat, gargle every 2 hours with a solution of 1/4th teaspoon salt dissolved in 1 cup warm water. Salt-water nose drops may help relieve a stuffy nose. Boil 150ml water, let it cool and dissolve 1/4th teaspoon salt in it to make your own nasal drops.
